Animated music videos are back in style in the worldwide lockdown.
Delhi-based rap duo Seedhe Maut has been leading in releasing highly engaging animated music videos. With a world-wide lockdown, exploring with new modes of content is the way artists are coping with their businesses. Two of their tracks have so far been released with animated visuals, which were executed by the artist Debjyoti Saha.
Mumbai-based artist Taba Chake also dropped a new track in April with an animated video produced by the artist @Lazyom. Taba has also previously worked with Anjali Kamat for a video for his song ‘Walk With Me’.
Singer-songwriter Tejas Menon also dropped his new single ‘Lead’ with an animated loop as its visual.
Last year saw indie artists like The Local Train, The F16’s and many more also release music videos featuring animated visuals. While animated music videos are more of a cyclic trend, it’s picking up its pace once again with limited modes of production.
