Snapchat’s new augmented reality lens can identify dogs and plants and nutrition levels via PlantSnap and Dog Scanner.
Snapchat has always been a step ahead when it comes to innovation in the lens department. Snapchat is equipped with identifying objects, faces, landmarks, songs. Now, the platform is coming up with two astonishing lenses called PlantSnap and Dog Scanner.
PlantSnap will help identify 90 percent of all known plants and trees, and Dog Scanner will help identify over 400 breeds of dogs and for fun, you can use the Dog Scanner filter on yourself and it will tell you the breed you resemble the most.
Later this year, Snapchat will develop a new lens called Nutrition Scanner which will help give a rating on the quality of ingredients in packaged foods by scanning the label. It’s also introducing user-friendly Local Lenses, which lets users to build AR worlds with their friends right on top of their actual neighborhoods. Snapchat is also introducing a “voice can” feature to help you find the right lenses for you just with a voice command.
