Adidas collaborates with Lego for the launch of reimagined bold footwear.
Brands are always on the lookout for incorporating innovations in their upcoming products. This generates a sense of belongingness for the consumer market by creating a feeling of nostalgia. One such inspiration is plastic building blocks. Plastic building blocks have been one of the most important parts of childhood for a lot of us. These building blocks have continued to entertain and inspire us throughout generations after generations. Therefore, inspired by the rich and bold colors of the children’s toys, footwear giant Adidas has recently released their latest footwear. Adidas has collaborated with Danish toy production company Lego for the launch of their latest collection of bright-colored sneakers. Adidas first launched its ZX footwear series in 1984, manufacturing shoes specifically with runners in mind. After more than 3 decades, the same series has been re-imagined with Lego.
The shoes are designed to celebrate the classic Lego brick, incorporating bold primary colors and green on panels across the shoes. To pay an authentic tribute to the Lego brick, the shoe has been designed with multi-colored mesh and Lego studs on the heels. Further, the most distinct feature of Adidas’ recent offering is not the shoe itself but the box it comes in. The shoes sit inside a shoebox made entirely out of interlocking plastic bricks. The tongue of the trainers features both the Adidas and Lego logos, while the footwear comes with six options for different colored laces. The product demonstrates that one is never too old to play and have fun. The trainers were released worldwide on September 25, available exclusively on the Adidas app. The brand is partnering with various collaborators and retailers to create 26 different unique drops with each alphabetical letter representing a sneaker release.
