A Digital avatar of John Legend to perform for One Wave concert for FREE AMERICA campaign.
For the past few months, celebrity concerts have been customary daily affairs. A lot of them are conducting virtual events for fan engagement, while some perform digitally for funding social causes like reliefs during pandemic or humanitarian policy developments. Recently, Wave announced that the critically acclaimed musician John Legend is putting on a concert where he will be transformed into a digital avatar for a live performance.
Virtual reality firm Wave uses cutting-edge broadcast and gaming technology to create motion-captured performances of the artists and turn them into animated characters in virtual worlds. The concert will be live-streamed on YouTube and Twitter on Thursday, June 25th at 3:00 PM (Pacific Time). Fans will be able to interact and socialize with John Legend who will be transformed into a digital avatar for this performance. The virtual audience can send paid “visual gifts” throughout the concert. All of the concert’s proceeds will be used for Legend’s FREEAMERICA campaign, an effort to reform America’s criminal justice system. The concert will feature Legend’s songs from his latest album, “Bigger love,” which released on 19th June. The few other concerts included in ‘One Wave’ virtual concert series include talents such as Tinashe and Galantis.
