IIT-Bombay held its 58th annual convocation ceremony in a virtual reality mode.
Affected by the pandemic students all over the world are coping. Whether its online exams, online study, or placement, everything is upturned. Institutions and teachers all over the world are trying hard to not let this pandemic affect the bright future generation. From Google Online Summer Camp or free courses provided to the students to continue their learning, technology is extensively used for educational purposes these days.
A similar display of India’s increasing advancement is seen on 22nd August when the IIT-Bombay held its 58th annual convocation ceremony in a virtual reality mode. The prestigious technological institutions didn’t want their students to feel their hard work going in vain due to the unfortunate circumstances so they created A personalized avatar of each graduate, who received the degree certificate from the personalized avatar of director professor Subhasis Chaudhari. The medallists also received their medals from the personalized avatar of the chief guest.
This astounding ceremony was put together by a team of 20 people over the course of last 2 months, the team created the virtual avatars from receiving their medals and degrees to the procession and the ceremony itself. The team also walked an extra mile by organizing a viewing of hostel videos and virtually connecting them with friends. IIT-Bombay didn’t stop just yet. They also created a virtual reality model of the campus and allows people to access its campus while sitting at their homes.
