The virtual gig space has seen a growth in interest after the shut-down of venues across the globe. This rise in consumption has pushed the intersection of music and gaming industries to another level. Platforms like Minecraft and Fortnite have witnessed massive online gigs in collaboration with some of the top artists all over the world.

Electric Blockaloo is one of the biggest online festivals yet that is scheduled to take place in the Minecraft universe from June 25-28th. With a stacked lineup of more than 900 artists across over 60 stages, the festival will feature names like Wolfgang Garter, Seth Troxler, KSHMR, Bassjackers and more. GRiZ, Lane 8, Diplo, Justin Martin, Jamie Jones, Getter, A-Trak, are just some of the artists that will be hosting their own stages. The stage decorations are set to include virtual recreations of The Gorge, Red Rocks Amphitheater, a fully equipped digital campout, and even Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton office. Electric Blockaloo is offering all the artists a 60/40 revenue share to do their part in helping out the artists through this hard time.

India-based entertainment agency Third Culture Entertainment took this chance to promote some homegrown names via this platform by curating a dedicated stage called the Snakes x Ladders featuring names like Kone Kone, Stalvart John, Madstarbase, Zokhuma, Kayan.A and Dreamstates. The showcase schedule is yet to be announced.

The gaming and music industry are seeing an unprecedented growth of intersection. Virtual gigs on gaming platforms give a high interactive engagement for the audience. Also, since virtual spaces are easily accessible to audiences with internet connectivity, this growth in virtual gigs has also led to a globalisation and international scaling of music.
