The education app BYJU’s to acquire Whitehat Jr for $300 million dollars.
The Education system is completely revolutionized by the introduction of the New Education Policy in 2020. Lots of changes have been done, which has their perks to the students. However, the Education Board of India has finally understood the need for practical knowledge in the budding stage of students and not only at the secondary or senior secondary level. From teaching regional language, training for vocational skills to introduce coding for 6th-grade students and giving enormous subjects to choose from in senior secondary classes, NEP has covered it all. Big educational companies have found a way to look for this and work the policy in their favor. BYJU’s, an education app has come forward for the same.
Think and Learn, which owns and operates education technology platform BYJU’s – The Learning App, has acquired Mumbai-based WhiteHat Jr which operates in the K-12 segment, teaching students to code, and helping them build commercial-ready games, animations and apps, using the fundamentals of coding. This has been done to provide expert teachers present on the platform to the BYJU’s learners and enable them first-class learning. WhiteHat Jr has a base of over 5000 teachers having a major presence in the US market.
