C-Mask from Donut Robotics can translate and transcribe speech and connect to Bluetooth.
With the Covid-19 pandemic hovering globally, WHO has made it compulsory for everyone to wear a mask because it disrupts the transmission of the virus. This has led to various clothing companies to step forward and design masks that are customer friendly. However, after putting the mask on, there is a difficulty in communication. A mouth covering naturally muffles speech, and they also make lip-reading and following expressions next to impossible.
Therefore, to solve this problem Donut Robotics has invented an innovative mask. The company has developed the masks from the robot technology and required in the current situation. The C-Mask can translate and transcribe speech and connect to Bluetooth. The mask performs its function by getting connected to a smartphone app via Bluetooth, where it can then transcribe speech, be used for calls, or translate their native language i.e. Japanese into eight different languages. It is worn over a typically face mask, which holds up the smart mask with its straps. The price of a single mask is estimated to be $40 and it will be shipped from Japan in September.
