The travel industry has witnessed a huge setback due to Covid-19 and lockdowns being imposed across the world. The re-opening of countries across the world has now presented a chance in front of the travel industry to take steps to recover from the setback.

Subsequently, Etihad Airways rolled out Covid-19 insurance for its passengers in partnership with AXA. The airline ensures full protection and peace of mind to all its passengers with 24/7 support and assistance around the world. The insurance as of now can be availed by the residents of  Australia, Bahrain, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Kuwait, Switzerland, Thailand (English, Thai) the UAE, and the UK. As a measure, all tickets booked for travel before 31st December 2020 will include the insurance.

Etihad would cover all medical and quarantine costs for passengers if they contract coronavirus after traveling on one of its flights. Medical costs of up to 150,000 euros ($177,000) and quarantine costs of up to 100 euro a day for 14 days will be covered by Etihad for its passengers who contract the disease within 31 days of first travel. The COVID-19 cover also includes the airfare of tickets for travel until the end of the year, valid around the world.

Etihad Airline hopes that the additional cover will not only instill confidence to travel but also reassure the passengers that safety is the priority concern of the airline. The airline looks forward to many other measures for ensuring passenger safety and recovering from the setback due to COVID-19.
