Snapchat to launch “Here for you” feature to help users cope up with mental health disorders.
With the global pandemic coming in 2020, not only our immune system is in danger but also our mental well being. There is a lingering uncertainty of the future which has caused a lot of upheaval in everyone’s lives. Someone is stressing about the illness while some about unemployment. The repercussions are numerous so thus the reason for stress. The main problem lies when this stress takes a serious toll on the psychological well being. Thus, to help people, various non-government organizations are running awareness.
Recently an organization such did it with a collaboration of popular application. Snap Inc, the parent company of Snapchat in collaboration with Mariwala Health Initiative and the non-profit Manas Foundation launched an in-app feature to raise awareness about mental health. The feature, “Here for you” aims to help the snap chatters who are experiencing stress, anxiety or any sort of mental disorder. Mariwala Health Initiative and Manas Foundation have created videos that show how to deal with stress and how to support one who is experiencing it. It also covers the ways to tackle with such disorders through mindfulness and grounding exercises. The resources aim to cover all the questions related to mental well being which is answered by clinical psychologists and professionals.
