The future of hot-desking: Nissan’s e-NV200 electric van converted into a mobile workspace.
Setting up everything in a small space has always been a big challenge for everyone. Space management is something that everyone wants to achieve. Nissan rightly achieved this space management technique by converting its electric van into a mobile workspace. Nissan launched this converted e-NV200 electric van in 2016. This van was converted into a mobile office visioning the look of ‘hot-desking’ in the future after the impeccable rise of hot-desking.
The e-NV200 WORKSPACE , has been built, designed, and transformed in collaboration with UK-based eco-designing agency Studio Hardie. The features that are a part of this workspace van are a fold-out desk, touchscreen computer, wireless internet connection, Bluetooth sound system, mini-fridge for brain-cooling refreshment, LED lighting controlled by a smartphone, a coffee machine, a Brompton fold-up bicycle stored on one of the rear doors, leather chairs and much more. This multifunctional van cum workspace is described as the world’s first all-electric mobile office and can travel up to 170 km on a single charge.
Interestingly, this van is a zero-emission working environment as it only charges through electricity generated by renewable energy sources hence, no tailpipe emissions. Thus, achieving the world goal of sustainability.
Today, this van cum workspace has proved to be a solution to two of the most prominent problems in the present; an office having a socially distant environment in times of COVID-19 to almost no pollution caused by the van. The vehicle has proved to give us all a real look at the future.
