Musicians and artists are uniting to uplift the transgender community as we move towards a more inclusive worldview.
There is nothing more powerful than art. A depiction of something bold can be easily done through art. Especially when it comes to focusing an issue on discriminated community or identifying oneself as not so stereotypical gender. The whole community transforms for them. It’s like a second birth when you identify yourself as queer. It’s beautiful yet so exhilarating. The society starts to differentiate and is not very comfortable with it. This stigma has created a wide gap between a straight individual and a transgender person because these people are deprived of opportunities and growth.
In recent years, many organizations have come forward to support the transgender community and empower them. The music industry with its magnificent art has also come forward to uplift these people. In recent times, many musicians and artists have initiated to help the transgender community with their pure heart. One such big name came recently when A Vancouver playlist gathered some popular artists for a transgender musical which is going to be presented at Vancouver Fringe Festival. Gia Gunn who identifies herself as trans has come forward and is collaborated with the company. All of the funds raised through this festival is going to be donated to the trans community worldwide to uplift them and give them basic amenities.
Bollywood is no behind. Yash Raj films and Red Label launched its India’s first transgender band. The group consisting of 6 members had to compose a song for their banner and YRF produced a video for them. All of the funds were used to uplift the community.
