Far Infrared Rays are the healthy rays contained in sunlight that are responsible for photosynthesis which is the process used by plants to produce energy, without which there would be no life on earth. Likewise, the healing rays of the sun have been found to cure the human body and mind. These rays penetrate the skin to reach the bones and soothe aching muscles and joints. Clinical trials reveal that energy from the body is transferred to the ceramic particles, which absorb the heat and then re-emit it as far-infrared light back into the body.

Some brands acting upon this knowledge of the healing properties of these rays have launched bio-ceramic clothing which emits far-infrared light into the body for enhanced healing. Some high-end sports brands like Under Armour, Invel USA, Lunya have bioceramic clothing line which claims to help in pain relief, muscle recovery and relaxation.

Not only in clothing, but bio-ceramic technology has found a place in bedsheets and mattresses which are also available with brands, taking wellness to another level. Nannocare, a sanitary pads company that uses this technology in their product, says their pads help relieve menstrual discomfort. Other FIR emitting products include foot massagers, eye masks and yoga mats.

Studies are still going on about the efficacy of bio ceramic pain relieving products. However, when applied, the infrared light is safe, natural, non-invasive and painless. Thus it may provide a wide range of health benefits in the future.
